Samsung has announced an exclusive partnership with Activision for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, bringing the popular first-person shooter franchise together with Samsung’s gaming displays, televisions, audio products and connected gaming services. The partnership was announced on August 17, 2026, ahead of the game’s planned October 23 release.
Under the agreement, Samsung will become the official TV, monitor, soundbar and Wi-Fi speaker partner for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The companies say the collaboration is designed to give players more immersive ways to experience the upcoming game across Samsung’s gaming and entertainment ecosystem.
HDR10+ Gaming Comes to Modern Warfare 4
One of the key features of the partnership is the integration of HDR10+ GAMING into Modern Warfare 4. Samsung says the technology is designed to improve color accuracy and contrast, helping players see greater visual detail while maintaining the game’s intended visual presentation. The game will also officially support a 32:9 super-ultrawide aspect ratio, allowing owners of Samsung’s Odyssey G9 monitors to experience the game across a much wider field of view. This could be particularly interesting for PC gamers who use ultrawide displays and want a more expansive view during gameplay.
For Samsung, the partnership is also a way to showcase its premium gaming hardware alongside one of the industry’s most recognised FPS franchises. Activision’s Cody Neal said Samsung’s display and gaming technologies offer another way to experience the new title with an emphasis on clarity, scale and responsiveness.
Samsung Gaming Hub Will Stream Call of Duty: NEXT
The partnership extends beyond hardware. Samsung says users of its Gaming Hub will be able to watch Call of Duty: NEXT live on August 21 at 9 a.m. PST. A promotional banner for the event will also appear in the Gaming Hub on Samsung TVs.
Samsung will also distribute Beta Early Access codes through its Samsung Promotion app. Selected players will have an opportunity to access the Modern Warfare 4 beta from August 21 to August 25, before the Open Beta begins on August 28 and continues through September 1. Availability of codes and event details will be shown through the Samsung TV Gaming Hub.
Samsung Gaming Hub brings supported cloud gaming services, including Xbox Cloud Gaming, together with gaming-related content on compatible Samsung devices. The company is using the Modern Warfare 4 partnership to expand the role of the platform beyond simply launching games.
Modern Warfare 4 Heads to Gamescom 2026

Players will also get an early opportunity to experience Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, which runs from August 26 to 30.
Samsung will showcase the game at its booth using premium Odyssey gaming monitors. Selected visitors will also have the chance to receive Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition Battle.net game codes, giving the event an additional attraction for Call of Duty fans. Gamescom is one of the world’s biggest gaming events, bringing together publishers, developers, hardware companies, creators and players. Samsung’s decision to feature Modern Warfare 4 prominently at the event highlights how the company is positioning its Odyssey monitor range toward major competitive and blockbuster gaming releases.
What the Partnership Means for Gamers
The collaboration gives Samsung an opportunity to connect its gaming hardware with a major upcoming release, while Activision gains another platform for showcasing Modern Warfare 4 before launch.
For players, the most notable features are likely to be the HDR10+ GAMING support, 32:9 ultrawide compatibility, Gaming Hub access and beta promotions. These additions are particularly relevant to PC and Samsung display users who want to experience the game on larger or ultrawide screens.
The partnership also shows how gaming companies and hardware manufacturers are increasingly working together to create complete gaming ecosystems rather than simply selling individual products. A major game release can now become a promotional opportunity for displays, cloud gaming platforms, audio equipment and other connected services.
With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 scheduled for release on October 23, 2026, Samsung’s partnership gives fans several opportunities to experience or watch the game before launch. The beta period, Call of Duty: NEXT event and Gamescom showcase will provide some of the first major public exposure to the new title.
For Samsung, the deal further strengthens its presence in gaming, while for Activision it provides additional reach through one of the world’s largest consumer electronics brands. The partnership could make Modern Warfare 4 one of the most visible gaming titles across Samsung’s premium display and connected-gaming ecosystem this year.
