Building a Healthier India

Nutrition is at the core of social and economic development that leads to building strong human capital and communities. Taking note of this, the Indian Institute of Management Nagpur has introduced a unique national level case competition “Yukti – Nutrition Nirmaan: Building a Healthier India” in association with UNICEF. This platform is designed specifically to address the persisting challenges of malnutrition in India by calling for student led ideas and strategic interventions that can contribute towards transfiguring the nutritional scenario of the country.

The Yukti contests is not an isolated exercise. It brings together esteemed partners such as Public Health Department, Maharashtra; National Health Mission (NHM) – Maharashtra and Nutrition Bureau, Nagpur along with UNICEF and IIM Nagpur. He argues, “Nutrition is the bedrock of human capital and a healthy population is essential for economic and social development.” With Yukti, the effort is to get the bright young minds into developing implementable solutions with unicef rooted in management practices but also sensitive to community demands and expectations.

In the competitive round, participants are asked to develop interventions designed to directly promote a balance of good nutrition and better dietary habits—especially in children and young people who tend to suffer most from malnutrition’s impact.
