Rockstar Games has officially revealed a new GTA 6 collector-style merchandise box, and there is one major catch: Grand Theft Auto VI itself is not included. Called the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, the limited-edition package is priced at $399.99 in the US and £349.99 in the UK. It is now available to pre-order through the Rockstar Games Store, with shipping scheduled to begin on November 19, 2026, the same day GTA 6 launches.

The announcement comes as Rockstar continues its marketing campaign for the highly anticipated open-world game. The collection is built around the fictional world of Vice City and Leonida, giving fans a physical collection of GTA-themed items to own even though the actual game must be purchased separately.

The $400 GTA 6 Collection Does Not Include GTA 6

The biggest talking point surrounding the new collection is its price and what buyers actually receive.

Despite being marketed around Grand Theft Auto VI, the $399.99 price does not include a copy of the game. Rockstar’s own product information treats the Vice City Collection as a separate merchandise product, meaning customers who want to play GTA 6 must purchase the game separately.

This is particularly notable because Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 will be available in both digital and physical versions, but even the physical retail version of the game will contain a download code rather than a game disc.

As a result, collectors buying the $399.99 box are effectively paying for the physical merchandise and presentation rather than the game itself.

What Comes Inside the Vice City Collection?

Rockstar has packed the collection with 11 different items, combining clothing, accessories, collectibles and Vice City-themed memorabilia.

The centerpiece is a Macca the Gator figure, based on the fictional television character from Leonida. The figure has a twist-open base that can also be used to store small objects.

The collection also includes Oakley Frogskins sunglasses featuring Prizm Sapphire lenses and a pink GTA VI logo. There is also a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat and a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror that can be used as a tray or displayed using its rear magnets.

Other items include:

  • Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
  • Vice City collectible swizzle spoon
  • Vice City razor-blade-style keychain
  • Leonida Keys enamel pin set with nine pins
  • Leonida Keys sticker pack with nine vinyl stickers
  • Double-sided souvenir poster featuring a map of Leonida

The combination makes the box more of a premium GTA 6 lifestyle and memorabilia collection than a conventional game bundle.

Leonida Map Becomes One of the Most Interesting Collectibles

Among the items included, the double-sided Leonida souvenir poster could attract particular attention from GTA fans.

Leonida is the fictional US state where GTA 6 takes place, with Vice City serving as its most prominent location. A physical map connected to the game’s world gives collectors something that goes beyond conventional merchandise.

The map is also interesting because GTA 6’s world has been a major source of speculation since Rockstar began releasing official footage and details. Fans have spent years studying screenshots, trailers and gameplay footage to identify locations and understand the game’s expanded setting.

The physical poster gives collectors a tangible representation of that world before the game’s release.

The Collection Is Inspired by Macca the Gator

Rockstar has based the merchandise around Macca the Gator, a fictional character and part of the satirical media universe within GTA 6’s Leonida setting.

The character appears to be central to the collection’s visual identity, with the Macca figure and magnetic mirror among the most distinctive pieces.

This follows Rockstar’s long-running approach of creating merchandise that feels like it belongs inside the fictional worlds of its games rather than simply placing a logo on conventional products.

The result is a collection designed around the culture and visual identity of Vice City and Leonida rather than simply the GTA 6 logo.

Limited Quantities Could Make the Box a Collector Item

Rockstar has confirmed that the Vice City Collection will be available in limited quantities. Customers can currently place pre-orders, but availability is expected to be restricted.

The company has also indicated that buyers can wishlist the collection if it sells out, allowing them to receive an alert if additional stock becomes available.

That limited availability could make the collection particularly interesting to GTA collectors. However, its future resale value cannot be known in advance and would depend on supply, demand and the collector market after launch.

November 19 Is the Big GTA 6 Date

The merchandise collection is scheduled to begin shipping on November 19, 2026, which is also the planned worldwide launch date for GTA 6.

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company has also confirmed Standard and Ultimate editions of the game.

For physical-game buyers, Rockstar says the boxed version will contain a digital download code instead of a disc. Physical copies are expected to become available from retailers beginning November 12 to allow players to preload the game ahead of launch.

This makes the new $399.99 collection even more unusual: the premium box is entirely separate from the actual game purchase.

Why Rockstar Is Selling a Collector Box Without the Game

The decision reflects the changing nature of physical game releases.

Traditional collector’s editions often combine the game with statues, art books, maps, steelbooks and other physical merchandise. Rockstar’s new collection instead separates the merchandise from the game itself.

That approach allows the company to sell a premium collector product while keeping the game editions themselves comparatively straightforward. Rockstar currently lists the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition as the two GTA 6 game editions.

It also means collectors who already intend to purchase GTA 6 digitally can buy the merchandise separately without having to purchase another copy of the game.

Fans React to the $400 Price Tag

The announcement has already generated strong discussion among GTA fans, particularly because the collection costs nearly $400 while excluding the game. Some reactions have focused on the amount of merchandise included, while others have questioned whether the collection offers enough value at that price.

The reaction is likely to remain divided because the package is aimed primarily at collectors rather than ordinary GTA players.

For someone primarily interested in playing GTA 6, the collection is unnecessary. For dedicated collectors who want physical memorabilia connected to Vice City and Leonida, the appeal is centered on the exclusivity and range of items.

GTA 6 Marketing Enters Another Major Phase

The Vice City Collection represents another major step in Rockstar’s promotional campaign ahead of GTA 6’s November launch.

In recent weeks, Rockstar has also expanded its GTA 6 merchandise and music rollout, including Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which contains 34 original tracks connected to the game. The company has increasingly used physical products and music to build the game’s world outside the software itself.

Now, with the $399.99 Vice City Collection, fans can own a substantial physical set of GTA 6-themed merchandise before the game arrives.

The most unusual part remains the simplest: Rockstar has revealed a $400 GTA 6 collector-style box, but buyers still have to purchase GTA 6 separately. With limited quantities and shipping beginning November 19, the collection is likely to remain one of the most talked-about GTA 6 merchandise releases ahead of launch.
